Julie Mehretu is one of the most celebrated contemporary artists, famous for her massive abstract paintings that feel like they’re alive with meaning and energy.
I was blown away by the scale and detail of her pieces. The TRANSPaintings series, with its opaque layers and dynamic textures, was absolutely captivating!
You can watch a screening about Julie Mehretu to learn more about her and her art. You can also scan the QR code next to the artwork and listen to an audio guide about that particular piece of artwork (bring your earphones).
